For this project I want to use sounds that evoke some kind of masculine presence. I think that this constant desire to explain what masculinity is caused by my own confusion on what that word means. Exploiting the stereotypes that describe masculinity is a good jumping off point. I want to gather sounds of "masculine" materials like wood being sawed or metal clanking together. The banging of a hammer on a nail or the sound of a punching bag being used. I think that the combination of these types of noises will bring to mind a type of violent physicality that is somewhat synonymous with masculinity.
I also want to see if incorporating natural and human reactions to these laborious activities will enhance its meaning. For example, labored breathing, wood snapping, a bull groaning.
